Egmond aan Zee

Egmond From way back, Egmond was a fishing village. The Jan van Speijk lighthouse, with its striking white appearance, keeps a watchful eye over the sea and the village. The seaside resort of Egmond aan Zee, which borders the North Holland Dune Reserve, is especially loved by people who have a liking for conviviality. There is plenty to do in Egmond: a varied choice of restaurants, beach cafes and amazing little shops. You can saunter along the long rows of terraces, or observe folks from behind a large scoop of ice cream. Let’s not forget the well-known Half Marathon, attracting many thousands of sports enthusiasts to Egmond every year. From the cultural historical point of view, there is also plenty to see.
