Accessibility and parking
In Egmond aan Zee there is paid parking in the period from 1 April to 1 October inclusive. Just like all the other resorts Egmond is at its busiest on hot days in July and August (especially at weekends). It can then be difficult to find a parking place. If you cannot find a parking space you can drive back to Egmond aan den Hoef, park there and take the bus to the beach. You can, of course, also take the bus from Alkmaar Central Station and you will be in Egmond in 15 minutes. If you go by bicycle, you can also choose the beach on a level with Egmond Binnen. Here you ride into the dune area (admission ticket is needed for the dune area; you can buy this at the entrance to the Dune Area), and the sea is ample reward for having braved three or four dunes.
